  • 3 whole Bananas Overripe, mostly brown skin
  • 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar Packed, preferably dark
  • 2 whole Eggs Room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 cup Whole Milk
  • 2 tablespoons Sour Cream Or Greek yogurt
  • 1 3/4 cups All-Purpose Flour (about 224 grams)
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Kosher Salt
  • 1/2 cup Chocolate Chips Semi-sweet or favorite variety

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C) and prepare a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt ½ cup unsalted butter over medium heat until golden brown and nutty in aroma.
  3. In a large bowl, mash 3 bananas and mix in sugar, eggs, vanilla, milk, and sour cream. Fold in brown butter.
  4. Sift flour, baking soda, and salt into the bowl and mix gently until just combined.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips evenly throughout the batter.
  6. Pour the batter into the loaf pan, and sprinkle additional chocolate chips or banana slices on top if desired.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 70-80 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
