  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil Butter can be used for a richer flavor.
For the Topping
  • 8 ounces Brie Cheese Camembert or goat cheese are good substitutes.
  • 1 cup Fresh Cranberries Soak dried cranberries in warm water if used.
  • 1 large Apple Use sweet apple varieties like Honeycrisp.
  • 2 tablespoons Honey/Maple Syrup Adjust to taste.
For Seasoning and Garnish
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • optional Fresh Thyme/Rosemary For garnish.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for toasting the baguette.
  2. Slice the baguette into 1-inch thick pieces and arrange on a baking sheet. Brush each piece with olive oil.
  3. Toast the baguette slices in the oven for 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
  4. In a saucepan over medium heat, cook cranberries with honey or maple syrup for 3-4 minutes until softened.
  5. Once toasted, top each baguette slice with Brie cheese and return to the oven for 3-4 minutes until melted.
  6. Top with apple slices and cranberry mixture, and sprinkle with salt, pepper, and herbs as desired.
