Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add macaroni pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 7-8 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter over medium heat. Whisk in 4 tablespoons of all-purpose flour and cook for 2-3 minutes until golden.
  3. Gradually add 3 cups of whole milk while whisking continuously. Cook until thickened and coats the back of a spoon, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Lower heat to medium-low and add 8 ounces of chopped Brie cheese. Stir until melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Fold the drained macaroni into the cheese sauce until well-coated.
  6. Transfer to a greased baking dish, sprinkle with panko breadcrumbs, and bake at 350°F for 20-25 minutes until golden.
