Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the filling by chopping the green onions and mincing the garlic. Mix shrimp, green onions, garlic, ginger, salt, and pepper in a bowl and let marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. Assemble the wontons by placing a spoonful of filling in the center of each wrapper. Brush edges with beaten egg and fold into triangles, sealing well.
  3. Heat 2 inches of neutral oil in a deep pan over medium heat until it reaches around 350°F (175°C). Test with a small piece of dough.
  4. Fry wontons in batches for 3-4 minutes until golden brown, turning occasionally. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  5. Serve warm on a platter with dipping sauces like sweet chili or soy sauce.
