Step-by-Step Instructions for Teriyaki Sauce
  1. In a small bowl, combine the cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water. Mix well until dissolved.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine ½ cup of water, ¼ cup of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of minced garlic, and 1 tablespoon of minced ginger. Add 2 tablespoons each of brown sugar and honey, along with 1 tablespoon of sesame oil and 2 tablespoons of rice vinegar. Stir well.
  3. Pour the cornstarch slurry into the saucepan and stir until fully incorporated.
  4. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring to a gentle simmer, stirring frequently.
  5. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until thickened and glossy.
  6. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving or storing.
