Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by baking a delicious almond-flavored cake according to your chosen recipe, ensuring it's fully cooled on a wire rack for at least 1-2 hours.
  2. Use a sharp chef's knife to slice the cooled almond cake into small, bite-sized squares, approximately 1-inch in size. Arrange the cut pieces on a clean serving platter.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes. Adjust the consistency with milk or powdered sugar as needed.
  4. Roll out store-bought white fondant on a clean surface to about 1/8-inch thick. Cut into squares to cover your petit fours or prepare glaze by following package instructions.
  5. Immediately after coating the cake squares, take almond slices and gently press them into the surface of each petit four.
  6. Once decorated, chill the petit fours in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to let the glaze or fondant set completely.
