Step-by-Step Instructions
- Begin by baking a delicious almond-flavored cake according to your chosen recipe, ensuring it's fully cooled on a wire rack for at least 1-2 hours.
- Use a sharp chef's knife to slice the cooled almond cake into small, bite-sized squares, approximately 1-inch in size. Arrange the cut pieces on a clean serving platter.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes. Adjust the consistency with milk or powdered sugar as needed.
- Roll out store-bought white fondant on a clean surface to about 1/8-inch thick. Cut into squares to cover your petit fours or prepare glaze by following package instructions.
- Immediately after coating the cake squares, take almond slices and gently press them into the surface of each petit four.
- Once decorated, chill the petit fours in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to let the glaze or fondant set completely.
