Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface until you have two 10 x 10-inch squares. Cut each square into four smaller squares.
  3. Place a slice of ham in the center of each pastry square, followed by a mound of grated Gruyere cheese.
  4. Combine the spices in a small bowl and sprinkle about ¼ to ½ teaspoon over the cheese on each pastry square.
  5. Whisk an egg and apply egg wash to the inside edges of two adjacent corners of each pastry square.
  6. Fold the pastry corner over the filling to create a triangle shape, pressing down gently to secure the edges.
  7. Place the pastries on the prepared baking sheet and sprinkle flaky salt on top. Bake for 12-15 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool on a wire rack for a few minutes before serving.
