- In a small bowl, mix warm milk (110°F/43°C), sugar, and instant yeast. Allow to sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Add activated yeast mixture, sweetened condensed milk, egg, and softened butter. Mix until dough comes together, then knead on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes.
- Shape dough into a ball and place in a greased bowl. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 30-45 minutes until doubled.
- Gently punch down the dough and transfer to a floured surface. Shape into a loaf or buns. Place in a greased loaf pan or on a baking sheet, cover, and let rest for 15-20 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare the egg wash by whisking egg yolk and milk. Brush onto the dough. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove from oven and let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
