Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Clean the mussels by rinsing under cold water and scrubbing the shells. Discard any mussels that do not close when tapped.
  2. Prepare the shrimp if necessary by peeling and deveining them, then rinsing and patting dry.
  3. Sauté the minced garlic in melted butter over medium heat for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add white wine to the skillet and simmer for 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly.
  5. Introduce the mussels to the skillet, covering with a lid, and cook for about 5 minutes until opened.
  6. Add the shrimp and cook for another 3-4 minutes until pink and opaque.
  7. Stir in the heavy cream, lemon zest, and juice, along with chopped parsley, then season with salt and pepper. Simmer until slightly thickened.
  8. Serve immediately with crusty bread, pasta, or rice.
