Ingredients
  

For the Meatballs
  • 1 lb Ground beef mince or pork/chicken/turkey
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs or Panko
  • 1 large Eggs beaten
  • 1 tbsp Low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Shaoxing Chinese wine or rice wine vinegar
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp Ginger minced
  • 2 stalks Green onions chopped
  • 1 tsp Kosher salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Cracked pepper optional
  • 1 tbsp Sesame oil
For the Mongolian Glaze
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp Ginger minced
  • 1/2 cup Low sodium soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1/4 cup Brown sugar or coconut sugar
  • 2 tbsp Hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp Oyster sauce omit for vegetarian
  • 1 tsp Ground white pepper or red chili powder

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef mince, breadcrumbs, beaten eggs, soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, minced garlic, ginger, chopped green onions, kosher salt, and cracked pepper. Mix until fully combined and roll into 1-inch balls.
  2. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  3. In a skillet over medium-high heat, combine minced garlic, ginger, low sodium soy sauce, water, brown sugar, hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, and ground white pepper. Stir and let it simmer until thickened (about 8 minutes).
  4. Coat baked meatballs in half of the sauce in a mixing bowl and toss gently. Transfer to a serving dish and repeat with remaining meatballs and sauce. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
