  • 1 pound Ground Pork or Shrimp Chicken or tofu can also be used
  • 4 cloves Garlic Minced; can use garlic powder if short on time
  • 2 tablespoons Ginger Grated; fresh provides best flavor
For the Broth
  • 6 cups Chicken Broth Vegetable broth for vegetarian option
  • 3 tablespoons Soy Sauce Tamari for gluten-free option
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Oil Omit for a lighter taste
For Freshness
  • 2 stalks Green Onions Chopped
  • 2 cups Fresh Vegetables Bok Choy or Spinach; substitute with preferred greens

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large pot, heat 6 cups of chicken broth over medium heat. Add 2 tablespoons of grated ginger and 4 cloves of minced garlic, stirring gently. Bring to a gentle boil over 5 minutes.
  2. Carefully drop in the wontons, about 20-25, into the bubbling broth. Cook for 5-7 minutes, or until they float to the surface.
  3. Stir in 3 tablespoons of soy sauce and a splash of sesame oil. Taste and adjust the seasoning as desired, simmer for another 2 minutes.
  4. In the last minute of cooking, toss in 2 cups of chopped bok choy or other fresh greens, stirring gently.
  5. Ladle the soup into bowls, making sure each has plenty of broth and wontons. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot.
