Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Begin by boiling 1 cup of water in a small saucepan. Remove from heat and add 2 tablespoons of gelatin powder, stirring until dissolved. Stir in ½ cup of sugar and 1 cup of freshly squeezed orange juice.
  2. Pour the gelatin mixture into a mold or bowl, let cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for about 2 hours until set.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of buttermilk and 1 cup of whipped cream, mixing gently until smooth. Set aside.
  4. Once gelatin has set, spoon the creamy mixture over the gelatin layer, spreading evenly. Return to refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  5. Garnish with orange zest and optional chopped nuts before serving.
