Cooking Steps
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Gather all ingredients.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix until evenly combined.
- Form the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sear meatballs in batches for about 5 minutes until golden brown.
- In the same skillet, sauté onions until translucent, then add garlic and tomato paste and cook for an additional minute.
- Pour in red wine, scraping the skillet to deglaze. After 2 minutes, add beef broth and simmer briefly.
- Return the meatballs to the skillet, cover, and simmer on low for about 30 minutes.
- Check meatballs for doneness, then serve with gravy.
